I am having trouble trying to get a return value from a process. I'm using NT 4.0 client, Unix server (Solaris 2.6), Remedy v. 4.

This is what I put in the set field value argument:

$PROCESS$ @@:/usr/bin/program.x "$Name$" $ID$ $Product$ $Version$

I received the following error message:

The following error(s) occurred:
ARERR [1603] Set fields active link running a process failed
\

Thank you for your help,
Yoevita

Check in your <>/ar/db directory.
If there are no logs, use your admin tool to turn them on.

The first thing that jumps out at me is that you are trying to access the
server directory via an active link. Active Links run on the local client.
You should probably try doing it as a filter Set Fields. This should get
you the value you are looking for. If you have to make it work in an Active
Link, you will need some software link Somba, which allows you to use the
Unix directories as if they were standard Network directories.

Hope that helps,

Yoevita

Try sending this process to a private server. It's possible the process is
being blocked by other requests and is timing out.

Let me know if you need further help.

Mark
