Position: Manager, Remedy Applications Development

Location: Herndon, VA

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience



Description: Oversee a team of software engineers focused on Remedy application development. Will work with partners and customers to build and support the continued development of various Customer Care, QA, and NOC applications in place.



Position Summary: Plans, organizes, schedules and manages Remedy application development. Prepares and reviews technical documents like product requirements, project plans, functional specifications, detailed design documents, implementation plans, test plans, and release notes. Responsible for managing support application development in the Remedy / SQL Server environment and for interfacing with other development groups; assign and prioritizes development resources for all required development projects. Manages life cycle for analysis, application architecture, code development, testing, and deployment; determines features, functionality and overall system designs. Assigns technical lead and development resources to new and ongoing projects; responsible for reallocating resources as more critical projects arise.



Required Skills:

* At least seven years experience in management and development of Remedy applications. Must have experience with Remedy's client-server component up to and including version 5.x, and the Remedy mid-tier component. Must have experience with databases (SQL Server and Oracle). Must be able to direct development staff towards the best design and/or implementation of a new system;

* Requires strong presentation skills and must work well in a dynamic environment and under strict deadlines pressures. Need the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize and assign specified tasks to be completed on time. Need the ability to interact with all groups within the company, communicate status both orally and in written form effectively. Willing and able to travel approximately 10% of the time.

* Must be able to oversee and approve technical content in product and process documentation as related to Remedy application development.

* Must be able to establish financial and performance goals and objectives for appropriate application development.

* Must be able to directly supervise a team of three Remedy application developers. Will be responsible for interviewing, hiring and training employees as well as planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
