We use and love Tally's NetCensus which they have replaced (a couple of years ago now) with TS Census. I haven't upgraded only for lack of time to do it.

There is a Remedy integration product for TS Census.

Subject: Desktop Discovery tools

Hi,

Does anyone know about any desktop discovery tools available that are compatible
with Remedy?

We're trying to import data from many different workstations/PCs into a database.

Thanks
David

LANDesk is a great tool to perform desktop discovery, as well as to perform remote control and provide application and OS distribution. Remedy integration has been built by EMS.

LANDesk sells exclusively through partner network. EMS is an ESP (Expert Services Provider)for LANDesk, meaning we provide both the product as well as the implementation and training services.

To visit EMS web site go to www.emsservices.com To visit the LANDesk web site go to www.landesk.com

Feel free to contact me for further information or pricing.

The Peregrine discovery tools worked very well, as a former Remedy person I know I should not promote the competition, however both the desktop and network tools were very strong.

SMS and LANDesk also have integrations into Remedy, in addition to Tally. Look for a more robust integration pretty soon between BMC Patrol and Remedy, and between IT Master Cell and Remedy as well. I know those last 2 are primarily server-based (like HPOV), but it's nice to know we have options on both client and server side.

Oooooooo, and it's a nice one, too. I saw it at RUG, and am already looking forward to seeing it used someplace. Don't know yet how easily it integrates relative to the other solutions I mentioned.
