Hi,

I upgraded ARS from 4.0.3 to 5.1 and my existing
(customized) forms were messed up (Default view was
changed, some fields were overlapped). We are using
HPUX 11.0, Oracle 8.1.7
This was a test machine.... Is there any option I
missed? Did anybody face this issue?
Please help.

When you upgraded to 5.1 the script created a view for the Mid-Tier. When
it did this it changed the definition of fields used on that view. The only
forms that were affected on our server were User and Group (We have a
home-grown Remedy system). I had taken a def just before we upgraded and
was able to compare the changed fields with the original and re-make the
changes.

Hi Atul,

Even I ,m in the process of doing the same .. 4.5.2 to 5.1 ....same
environment.(HPUX 11.0, Oracle 8.1.7)
I can suggest you one thing ,,, do it on ur staging server ....
Take a backup of ur database
for safer measure Just export all ur workflow and forms in .DEF file and
then upgrade 4.5.2 to 5.1 ....while upgrading it will add 20-25 new forms as
5.1 has more features ...see if ur forms are being overwritten ... import
the .DEF from remedy administrator to restore the customized workflow and
forms....

Did u upgrade were able to restore all ur users and groups ....

just check if u get some more info ... pls let me know even i,m going for
upgrade this week ...i need to know the issues involved.....
ANd u need any help , mail me anytime ....

Hello,

Atul, when I upgraded from 4.03 to 4.5, I had a problem with my forms having
fields overlapped, etc. It turned out that the default "fonts" section of
the Remedy User client ar.ini file had changed in the later version. I
copied the whole "fonts" section of the OLD ar.ini file, deleted the new
fonts section out of my current ar.ini file, and pasted the old one in and
saved it. All of my views were then OK. Until I decide to redesign my
forms, I have to use the old fonts in my ar.ini file when doing a new client
installation. Maybe this will solve your problem too?? Here is a copy of
the fonts section of the ar.ini file that I use:
