#77970 - 12/26/02 04:59 AM Remedy Mail Server is stopping after it fails to send mail (3rd f ailure)

Happy Holidays to all.


I just wonder if I can pick into the remedy's "global brains" :o) We have a
minor problem with our 'Remedy Mail Server'. It stops after it fails to
send mail... after about 2 times. So about third time it fails to send mail
- it stops. This is 3rd or 4th time it happened since May of this year.

We don't have any recovery set, on the recovery tab.

What I've noticed is that when it fails to send mail...is the cases when it
very first time sends a notification to the user and that user have out of
office assistant turned on... meaning that it "auto replying" back to Remedy
Mail Server with out of office message.

Anyways, something is spookeee about it and I wonder if anybody already
dealed with this problem.

Any input will be appreciated.


ARS 5.0 app.server on Win2K box with SQL 7 backend db.
Mail is via MS Exchange with MS Outlook clients

Leonid,
I upgraded from 4.5.2, Win 2k to 5.1 last weekend and I'm experiencing the
same problem. I will log a ticket with Remedy today. Please follow up if you
resolve this issue and I will do the same.

Hi Rick,
Yes this makes since. We are creating tickets through email templates which
makes this a little more complicated but yes I can create a rule on the
exchange box to route these messages.
