Listers,

I added a new group and populated it. It is still not showing on the list
of available groups when I input a new ticket.

Group name is Product Management. It shows correctly in the Group,
ConfigManageGroup, and ApplicationGroup forms. I tried doing arreload on
User and Group, and also rebooted the Remedy server. (Those steps have
worked in the past).

Our setup is Server and User 5.0
WinNT 4.0
SQL 7

Thanks for your help,
Maureen

Check the permissions on the field (but in this case I dont think this is the
problem
if all you did was add a Support Group).

Also, just confirm that the group you created is infact a Support Group.
Im assuming that this is for the HelpDesk module and the group was created
using the Remedy Configuration Manager. Since we have both production
and development server confirm that it was created on the intended server.

Sorry if all this is obvious, but I have falled in these rabbit holes before. =)

That was it, Barb.

I don't add groups very often, and we don't assign specific skills to
groups, so I had forgotten that step.

Thanks very much for your help!

Maureen

Maureen,
I'm assuming from your description that you are using Remedy's Help Desk
application. There is a form called SHR:Assignment which is actually used
to figure out what groups are displayed on the menu. What I do in a case
like yours is open ARS in the User Tool, open the SHR:Assignment form, and
search for all records where Assignee Type = "Group with Skills". If your
new group isn't there, then you'll have to add it here. I usually look at a
similar group and make the necessary modifications. Be very careful with
this form as it drives a great deal of workflow and as the message on it
says you should use the Configuration Manager. However, I find that I
frequently have to manually update this form.
If you have further questions, feel free to email me.
