Fritz,

Sorry, guys and gals, but you're beating a dead horse if you think RUG will

I have to agree on this point, being from outside the US. Having to deal
with the exchange rate on top of everything is just to much.

If there where some international mini-RUG's (Since ARS is touted as such an
international product) might be a little more fathomable to some of us.

If it where in Canada, you could leverage your american dollar to your

If we can get the RUG to be held here, just imagine, Africa and Asia will then be part of it all. We always read, wondering and admire, why not be part of it ?

Fritz,

I'd agree with that.. Both these are a lot more affordable places to go to. And more easier to get VISA's to. The US (or even Canada or Europe) on the other hand is probably twice as expensive, and probably more accessible to those only living there.

In my honest opinion, conferences such as this should not only be held in the place where its makers were born. Doesn't Microsoft hold its conferences in even remote places? And then people wonder how they are the makers of the most popular OS's given all their instabilities. I wonder why Remedy sticks to just its home ground. Are they afraid to venture into the wild?

C'mmon guys, don't be afraid of us Asians and Africans... we are mostly vegetarians LOL ... and we are nice people... we are even nicer to who are nice to us... :)

I've never, never, never, never, never..... never.... heard of a conference
in Asia. Europe, yes but not one in Asia...

I'd have loved to attend one even at my own cost if one was brought to
anywhere in Asia.

Sorry, guys and gals, but you're beating a dead horse if you think RUG will
e anywhere but the San Francisco area. RUG will most likely be there
because that's where the company and its people are.

I believe they do (or did before the Darkness came over them) have a
conference in Asia and Europe, too, for those of you who live there.

=========================================
I have to agree on this point, being from outside the US. Having to deal
with the exchange rate on top of everything is just to much.

If there where some international mini-RUG's (Since ARS is touted as such an
international product) might be a little more fathomable to some of us.

If it where in Canada, you could leverage your american dollar to your
advantage.

=========================================
If the RUG also shall be of interest for ars'ers outside USA, a agree that to total price for the conference has to go down a bit, Conferencecost, tickets, hotell, all together = a lot of money, and many Companies today has hard to give Green Light, a bit sad, because the RUG gives a lot for us ars people. I was in Orlando too, but 'to expensive' was the answer I got when I asked this year. The standard of the accomodation is not an important thing, be to be able to participate is...

This reminds me of a conversation I had with a non-travelling friend. I
told her we were considering going to Thailand & Cambodia next year. She
said "I'd be afraid to go there. It sounds so exotic - they might have
snakes there!" I didn't tell her that we also have snakes in the US.

Joe,

I was always told that Hippos were more dangerous (or claimed more lives) than lions.

Only one thing for the Remedy folks to watch out if they come to Africa though...

Joe,

We will call it RUG, The African Safari !

>> joe.cybermak@MAKHARAFI.NET 07/10/02 08:49AM >>>

Joe

If we can get the RUG to be held here, just imagine, Africa and Asia will then be part of it all. We always read, wondering and admire, why not be part of it ?

Fritz

>>> joe.cybermak@MAKHARAFI.NET 07/10/02 08:25AM >>>

Fritz,

Would as good as any place in Asia. Not too far from where I am and besides a lot more affordable to me who earns a Asian salary. I do not think getting a Visa there is an issue as well.

Joe

=========================================

Don't you guys think a conference in Africa will be nice for a change ? What about in South Africa ? The dollar and Euro is stronger against the currency, therefore it will be then cheaper......just a thought. (Besides......who's Peregrine.......hehehe)
