Thanks for the information.. I had set up the private server like that, but
I really need to be able to specify the TCP/IP port (apparently RPC is a bad
protocol and we can't use it, also, it makes it very difficult to configure
the firewalls) The main reason for the need of firewalls is that the
omnibus server is set of the customers LAN so we need to be protected from
them and they need to be protected from us.
There is a mention of the 'Private-Specific-Port in the documentation, but I
did try that and it didn't seem to work.
Thanks Again,
Karen

Karen:
You can configure your Private servers from the Admin tool. Select File ->
Server Information -> Server Ports and Server Information to setup the
Private Server.
I don't think that you can or should configure your Private Socket for a
separate TCP/IP port. The new server paradigm uses multiple threads, rather
than multiple processes. You can, however, set the entire server to a
specific port.

Subject: Configuring private servers in 4.5.2

I know this is my second request for help today.
We recently upgraded from 4.0.2 to 4.5.2 and we had a private server running
with RPC 390680 and TCP 50215. This config was necessary to allow NetCool
omnibus to connect through two firewalls.
I have been pulling my hair out all day because I can't see how to configure
this in 4.5.2
The previous lines I had were:
Private-RPC-Socket: 390680 Private-Specific-Port: 50215
I tried the same lines and it didn't seem to work.
Can anyone help, please?
Thanks
Karen
