Hi ,
We are planning to upgrade our remedy system from Ver 3.2 to ver 5.1. Have gone thru the pdf's for this . As per the information it seems a fairly simple process .During installation it asks for Upgrading /overwriting the system and that all takes care . As we have a sybase RDBMS we will have to upgrade it to ver 12.5 which supports Remedy ver 5.1.
Would like to know whether there are any other considerations which have to be taken care of .
With regards to
New Customised forms
Existing forms which have been modified (User Form/Group form)
Workflow objects (activelinks.filters,escalations,different guides)
Macros
API's
Other server objects
Moreover what would be the time frame that would be required for such a transition .
Also am looking for areas which take time and delay the upgradation process.

Regards
Ramandeep

I made upgrade for 5.01 last month and I didn't have problem.
It was so easy and friendly. You have to make backup for everything
(forms and records) in order to go back in case of trouble.
During installation it will ask for Upgrading /overwriting, don't forget
To chose "upgrading".
You can also choose to overwrite the
database, which creates a new database, and overwrites your
existing structures.
Good Luck!

How do your macros work afterwards?

All macro actions can be converted into Active Links with an Admin Tool utility.
