Hi
We have a ARS 5.0 server running on a HP unix machine and the ARS clients on Windows 2000. We would like to have the login on the ARS clients using the Windows login names and passwd. Has anyone done this for ARS 5.0 before ??

BR,
Boris

I haven't done it yet, but here's what Remedy says about it:

KB 10524:

Can I set up ARS running on UNIX to authenticate users on my NT domain on ARS 5.0.x?

Yes. You need to either create an AREA server (ARS 4.5) or a plug-in (ARS 5.0) to authenticate against the NT Active Directories. Active Directories is an LDAP client and the Sample LDAP code may work. We have not tested this in Support. You may find out more information regarding the AREA server in the Programmer's Guide for 4.5, specifically Chapter 8 and AREA plug-in in Chapter 8 of the Programmer's Guide for ARS 5.

Hope this helps!
