Hi List.

About two weeks ago, we upgraded our machines from 4.02 to 4.52. The install
went very well and everything seemed to be ok.

A day or so later, some of the users which have floating licenses started to
mention that they were having intermittent permissions problems when they
tried to work on the forms which they normally use. We contacted Remedy and
the answer which we recieved was to apply a patch. We downloaded the latest
one that was available, patch 1095, and applied it to the server. We also
applied patch 1094 to the clients. It seems that this has had almost no
effect.

In working with the form myself, I am starting to see that when I select one
of the fields by clicking on the name (to populate the advanced query bar)
the name of the field is something completely different. When I look at the
currently connected users from the Admin tool, I see that the folks out
there which normally have floating licenses have been assigned read
licenses.

I am at my wits end. Help? Suggestions? I welcome any and all advice.

Thank you in advance.

Will,

I have been having the same problems. We upgraded our Server to 4.5.1 and
our clients are using 4.0.3 on their workstations. As soon as we upgraded we
started having the same problem. I called Remedy and they said that the only
way to resolve the problem is to upgrade all of the users to the 4.5.1 or
4.5.2 client. There is a known problem with 4.0.3 clients accessing a 4.5.x
server when the users are assigned floating licenses You will probably need
to upgrade the clients. I tested it with a few of my users that were having
the most problems and it works. There may be another way to fix your problem
but this one worked for us.

The bug id is SW00108097

Hope this helps,

Kev
