Hi everyone,

I want to thank Gidd Calden for the copy of AR Utilities and
Barry Lindstrom for the Metrax Polo shirt and bottle of New
Zeland Wine!! I also want to thank Barry for organizing and
sponsoring the pool!

I thought I was off to a bad start when I guessed the beta release
date was November 23rd. Not even one hour after I emailed my guess
to Barry, the 5.0 beta announcement was made (on 11/9).

I guessed ARS 5.0 production would be released on December 17th,
but in reality, it was announced on the 13th. Surprisingly, out of
all 20 people who participated, no one guessed a date any earlier
than mine. Gidd made the next closest guess of December 20th. I
think all of our expectations concerning the release date have
been exceeded.

If I can attend "RUG" anytime soon, I'll bring the bottle of wine
with me to share with other ARSListers. I don't think I'll be
able to make Synergy in March, but there are rumors of a more
technically oriented conference towards the end of next Summer.
If that event materializes, I'll try my best to get registered.

In the meantime, I would like to wish everyone a happy holiday
season! I'm sure that all of us are looking forward to some
well deserved time off!
