Hello Listers,

I did some searching, but haven't been able find help in this area. Are
there any steps I can take to improve the performance of the remedy
administrator tool for my developers? It's frustrating at times, it may
take 30 seconds or more to open an active link, or return the active link
list. The form list is much faster.

We are running 4.5.2 clients, 4.5 server, Oracle 8, on an RS/6000. CPU
utilization on the server is low - very low. Remedy hardly makes a dent.

I appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks,

Bill,

These are symptoms of a lack of tablespace in your database. Check with your
DB administrator to check the amount of space available for the ARSystem
database. It may also indicate insufficient number of AR Threads that have
been enabled.

Tips:
1.) Consider increasing the size of Rollback segments and/or the number of
Rollback segments.
2.) Check to see how many AR threads (List and Fast) are running.
3.) It would help to 'enable' the escalation server if it isn't already
enabled. If the Escalation server is not enabled and there are frequent
escalations that are being triggered, the Escalation server uses the
Administrator thread, which could be one of the reasons why you are
experiencing a bottleneck.
4.) If you are constantly working on the Administrator Tool making changes,
it may help if you 'enable' a Private server for your use. But this isn't
exactly necessary as there is already a thread reserved and enabled by
default for the Administrator user.

If you need info on how you go about achieving any of the above, please feel
free to write back. Hope this helps...

By the way, what's the political/social situation in the United States
assuming that you are from there? I can only imagine what it must be and my
sincere sympathies for those families / friends / colleagues of the deceased
and those affected.
