More to the point, do not open suspect attachments with a
Windows box.

If you have one available, use a Solaris or Linux box, and pipe the
document through the program strings to read it.

Not only is is supicious, it IS a virus. Don't have the name right now, but it was released
sometime last week. It is destructive....

In order to prevent becoming the victim of such an attack, you should
consider:
* NEVER accept unsolicited file attachments from ANYONE, even if you
know the *apparent* sender. If you do not want to delete these out of
hand, contact the sender and confirm that they in fact intended to send
if before opening it.
* Obtain, install, use and keep up-to-date a reputable antivirus program.
This will probably protect you from anything that slips through the
first suggestion.
* Make certain you keep current on security patches for your operating
system and e-mail software. Many of the e-mail worms and Trojans
use holes closed be these patches to infect your system or spread.
