This message implies that somehow windows is using an older version of the
MFC42.dll, or the newer version just loaded has not properly been registered
(DLL's export functions by name and by 'ordinal', this message implies the
function '6605' does not exist in the DLL). I'd start by rebooting the
machine and trying to restart the client. If this doesn't work I'd go to
www.windowsupdate.com (using IE of course) and download/install all of the
latest fixes and patches provided by Microsoft.
I've found that these two actions solve virtually every problem related
missing or incorrect DLL's (at least those provided by Microsoft).
