If, when you were installing, you did not set the environment variables
correctly, it is possible that the install couldn't write to where it wanted
to.
We use the following:
REMEDY_LICENSE_DIR=/apps/remedy/ars/current/etc
ARCONFIGDIR=/apps/remedy/ars/current/etc
NTSPOOLDIR=/apps/remedy/ars/current/spool
NTSPOOLERDIR=/apps/remedy/ars/current/spool
FTSLIBPATH=/apps/remedy/ars/current/common/_solaris/bin
