Remedy used to have an upgrade division that we could contact to get CD roms
of upgraded software. I just tried sending an e-mail to upgrades@remedy.com
but the e-mail was returned. Does anyone know how to contact them? Thanks.

Just try upgrade@remedy.com not upgrades...
Or look at http://supportweb.remedy.com/
I think there should be an Upgrade Central...

Have Fun! :-)

Question about menus and reports : We use menus related to character fields
that allow our agents to choose categories from drop down menus. We do not
allow appended items or items not contained within the menu ($MENU$). Our
menus are very large, the choices drill down several times in the menu, and then
menus are constantly changing with updates and deletions. When we run reports
to find out all the problems we have had with lets say monitors, the
administrator must change the workflow of the report every time a monitor type
is added, deleted, or modified. The report workflow looks something like this
: If Problem_Catagory = "NCR" OR Problem_Catagory = "IBM" OR Problem_Catagory =
"Acer" and so on.... We want to report on all monitor problems but have to
build the report to reflect all subs of the main product category. Any
suggestions are appreciated.

Hello,

Is there anyone that has information pertaining to the difference between
Asset Management Light (packaged with HelpDesk) and the full blown Asset
Management Module ?

Thanks,

Hi, Listers

Sorry for my first post ( I forgot the attachment :( ). so here is another post
that I'm sure it contains the attachment. This is a form I've done as an
example of sending email through outlook using OLE! you will find two buttons
on the form one will send the email without showing outlook to the form user
and the other will open up outlook after copying whatever the user had written
into the form fields to outlook so he can send them. to learn more about the
OLE commands and objects used in this example just take a look at the helptext
for each button and the active links themselves.

The Asset "Light" as you call it just does simple Asset Tracking. The AM
Module is "Full Blown" Management, which means you can attach Leases
(Contracts) to assets and you can do things like track and categorize
Components related to Asset i.e. HDD, CPUs contained within a PC Asset.
Stuff like that.

I was wondering if anyone can point me to any info on what I would need to start implementing ARS 4.5. My company wants me to get it up and running and so any info you guys can pass my way would be GREATLY appreciated. I just need what is a good and proven way to start it up and go from there. By the way this is my first time, so be gentle =)

Another way of doing it is to install Help Desk, and look at the way they do things. It's not perfect, but they have some rather elegant ways of resolving some problems and doing some workflow.

Hi listers,

We've got 9 ARS systems servers and I would like to do
a direct SQL from one of them to the others. Is there
any way to do pass the server name as a parameter in a
set fields direct SQL instead of having to create 9
active links? Each user logging in to the centralized
administrative server has a server name attached to
his/her profile.

Hi All,

Has anyone had any experience with Clarify? IF so, was it good or bad?
Also, how does the product stand up against Remedy?

I'm trying to convince a customer that Remedy is the way to go, so any
information in regards to Clarify will be helpful.

Thanks
