Hi Listers,

I have a User that I want to give Read Only Access to, however, I want him to be able to view ONLY tickets where the Department field's value is his department. Can this be done via the Remedy User, or can access control like this only be done via Web access?

Janice,

I'm not a HD user but you can definitely do it in ARSystem provided you are
not already using Assignee Group access on the form in question.

What you need to do is set up Group entries for all the departments in
questions, bearing in mind the Group Id. Then set the Assignee Group field
(ID 112) on the main form the appropriate Group Id for that department.
The User can then be set up belonging to a group which has access to all
the required fields Except Request ID (ID 1) and access to Request ID will
be granted via the Assignee Group access.

For more info refer Administrator Guides. Check the Index for Assignee
Group.

If you're already using the assignee group access, you could set up join
forms. The primary form would be the one with the data of interest. The
secondary form would have as the join field something like Department.
(Primary form.department = secondary form.department). Set up several of
the secondary forms with one record only, and have each secondary form's
single record would have one of the departments. Set up a join form for
each secondary form. Give each group access to its department's join form.
Take away non-admin access from the primary form. Jim.
