It's now past midday in New Zealand, and everything is still working
(including the eftpos). We've checked all our 24x7 customers and nothing
Remedy related has emerged.
Happy New Year

All sorts, we're the VAR for this part of the world and have every possible
mix of platforms, dbms's, allied systems, and some of our own products. I'll
be keeping a close eye out over the next few days and I'll sing out if
anything goes crazy. In the meantime the power is on, the aeroplanes are
flying, the phone works, the atms and eftpos are doing their thing, and
there's a lot of champagne in the streets
Cheers

Drink one for me. It's December 31, 1999 at 7:15 PM in Central Texas. I really
do need to go home, just in case I get called. I've been at work for about 13.5
hours.
Thanks,
Michelle

NT 4.0 Server
AR Server: 3.0.1 Patch 424
MS SQL 6.5
When submitting tickets, receiving error 350. Divide by zero error.
Closing newly created tickets. Divide by zero error was told this patch was

BTW Happy New Year everyone! It feels great to be participating after an
extended absence and a serious accident. I feel good and I am glad to be
back. It kinda puts New Year's into perspective, too.

You are probably really busy right now...
Just a few suggestion, and if you find the time to write to list then great,
if not, good luck I hope you find your solution.
1) Do you use ARTIME?
2) Does any workflow at all do calculations?
3) Since Remedy patches are well known for introducing more bugs than the
fix (hello, patch 817) and from what I see, ARS 3.0.1 running on NT doesn't
need any patches, maybe you could try reverting to your previous executable
on a test machine (if you have one).
I'll be monitoring the list for some time yet. I'm on until 0800 EST....
grim, I know...

I know you must be very busy now. I hope my suggestion doesn't sound too
silly...
1. Turn on the filter log to pin point the broken workflow.
2. You didn't mention your client version. Try with the later 3x client. i.e.
3.2.1 Patch 858. I don't know it is competable with 3.0.1 or not. You may also
turn on the Active Link log in 3.2 and up.
3. Upgrade your artime from Remedy support web
I hope you can resolve your problem soon. I am still waiting for the Y2K
rollover in west coast. Good Luck.....

calctime.exe)was failing. I disabled it and was able to squash the error.
What ramifications it caused is still being worked on.
Thanks and Happy New Year!

It was a filter that calculated closed time (running Remedy's calctime.exe).
I was disabled the filter and the modifications/closing of the ticket
completed without error. What ramifications it has down the down, is yet to
be seen.
AR Client: 3.2.1 Patch 702
AR Server: 3.0.1 Patch 424
File Server: NT 4.0 SP5
SQL: MS SQL 6.5
Thanks and a happy New Year to you!!!!

I received this same error when trying to move a ticket status from Pending to
Resolved. I found two filters (HPD:HPD-SetAutoCloseTime and
HPD:HPD-CalcHoursToResolve) that were using artime. Both of the $PROCESS$ calls
to artime failed to return values to the appropriate field (nothing was returned
at all, they received $NULL$ values, causing ARERR 350 in a later calculation).
The same $PROCESS$ call done on the command line, however, returned the correct
value.
Also, all email notifications since 1/1/2000 10:00 AM (the time we restarted AR)
have failed to be sent. Users get the popup screen saying that the notification
has been sent via email, the AR Server logs show the notification being sent,
however, the actual sendmail logs show that NOTHING has been sent.
After a few hours of reading through the logs and trying various test cases and
solutions, I got frustrated and just shut AR down and restarted it. BAM!
Problem solved (hopefully) for both ARERR 350 and the email situation. Whether
this problem was Y2K related still needs to be determined.
Here's what I did:
- Shutdown AR
- Freed all memory segments and semaphores used by AR (using the unsupported
utility arshrmem)
- Restarted AR
You might want to reenable your filter and follow the above process. Hope this
helps.
