(man, that's a lot of code!)?? Truthfully, upgrading the server seemed to
eliminate most of the hesitation on loading forms that we had attributed to
network latency, and the admin tool in particular seemed to load and save a
lot faster, but then the improvement after upgrading to 4.0.3 clients while
still developing on a 4.0.2 server was the MOST noticeable gain. This was
even true on my little P166 Win98 client test boxes. We never did have a
production user load on 4.0.2... went from Help Desk 3.0 on 4.0.1 to HD 4.0
on 4.0.3 three weeks ago. BTW, upgrading to 4.0.3 on NT 4/SQL Server 7 was
completely painless on the server side. Getting users who were still on
3.2.1 clients over to 4.0.3 was a LOT more trouble.
Roger on the Happy Y2K Rollover,... our mainframe guys are going nuts and
the UNIX gang looks a little nervous, but the datacomm crew is going totally
berserk (with our alien-installed network, they should be). We'll see who's
still smilin' early on the 1st; I told 'em to just log a trouble call if
they need me. Cheers!!

Subject: Remedy 4.0.3 "performance enhancements" and Happy New Year
Hi all
Has anyone out there actually seen the "performance improvements" that
Remedy
promise in the release notes for ARS 4.0.3?
I'm considering upgrading early in the New Year to take advantage of these
improvements, but I wondered what they really are, as Remedy don't say...?
Also, a Happy Bug-Free New Year to all of you. A Happy Millenium also to
those
who really believe that this really is it.
regards
Jason
