finally find the issue. I was actually exporting records from my 3.2.1
server to import onto my 4.0.2 server. The 4.0.3 User Tool can not export
Status History fields from a 3.2.1 server. However, it is a SERVER issue
according to Remedy. The server issue is fixed in the 4.0.3 releases, so
Remedy's "workaround" is to upgrade the server to 4.0.3. Figures.
If anyone else runs into this, my workaround was to export my records using
the 3.2.x user tool (which works fine with Status History).

Subject: Re: RPC Error when exporting Status History
Hi Susan
Have you by any chance renamed the Status field to something else
like
'Ticket Status' ?
There is a bug in 4.03 patch 850 which does not recognise the actual
field
name and defaults to looking for 'Status-History.New.USER' instead
of
'Ticket Staus-History.New.USER' and as the field name doesn't exist,
it
times out or gives an error. Remedy are aware of the problem and
have fixed
it in unofficial patches (not put through the QA process, so not
available
for general use) and it will be fixed in the next 'official' patch.
Contact Remedy support to get a copy of one of the unreleased builds
to see
if this solves your problem.
