I have a question for anyone out there who has been successful in
integration GroupWise Email with the Remedy System and others who have not
and why it failed.

The question my customers are asking is
Does ARS have an integration to GroupWise Email?

Our company standard email system is GroupWise (not my choice), however, we
(the Remedy Development Team) use an in-house developed email process which
sends emails from ARS to the SMTP Gateway and then into GroupWise via
gateway. We want to install the Exchange Server and use that in place of the
in-house developed software. However, out Email Tech. Support group does not
believe us when we say that Remedy don't have integration into GroupWise. So
this leads to their first question.

Second, I am asking Remedy Tech Support the same questions as well as

"If no integration is available today is there any plans to develop this
integration in the near to far future? If, not WHY? If you don't I really
need detail reasons why this would not be done, so I can finally convince
out Email Tech guys that our best options is to go with Exchange".

Second question to the group is has anyone gone down this road and was able
to convince those in charge that GroupWise integration is not a valid
solution, rather some other integration that is supported by Remedy a better
approach?

We are an NT shop and are forced to interface with Novell only in the area
of Email. Any thoughts on the matters would be very, very appreciated.

I can get the send email to user from a ticket working nor can I send an application to a user.

Otherwise I haven't found any restrictions.

The POP3 server setup from Remedy's Integration Note is stated
belows:

The header of the note mantioned :
"POP3 Server
Product Category: GroupWare Support Category: Unsupported"

Hope it is useful to you.

In addition, my little comment:- the function of the Exchange mail
server is the same as the mail-gateway (that you have mentioned) if
you have another box as the mail server other than Exchange mail
server.
