Job Title - Remedy Developer/Engineer



CLEARANCE:
• Requires and active DoD Secret security clearance.

LOCATION:
• Tinker AFB, OK or Needham, MA. There will be extended travel

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• Position requires a Bachelor of Science in a computer related field with 7 years of related experience.


POSITION DESCRIPTION:
• The Remedy Developer/Engineer will be responsible for developing, documenting, and maintaining both standard ITSM systems and government developed custom applications in an Air Force environment.
• The application development is for an enterprise environment and will be implemented using high availability and fault-tolerant methods.
• The developer will be responsible for managing a small team of engineers to develop the applications as well as the environment to ensure a highly available system is available to the Air Force customer.
• The candidate selected will be part of a technical engineering team designing, configuration, testing and implementation I-NOSC Situational Awareness System.
• Performs a variety of moderate complex software and /or hardware engineering activities of an analysis, design, or test nature.
• As an emerging expert, evaluates, designs, documents, installs, implements, tests, performs problem isolation and resolution, monitors, tunes, and sets standards.
• Maintains a complex range of computer network components and systems.
• Performs these functions across a wide range of network facilities to include: physical media, protocol stacks, hubs, routers, bridges, gateways, digital servers, line drivers, telecommunications transport facilities, NCP (related software/hardware) and network management components.
• Provides client consulting and training on the interfacing and use of the network facilities.
• Plans and coordinates major computer network initiatives.
• Researches, evaluates, and recommends new computer network equipment and technologies.
• Utilizes monitoring, performance analysis, network management, software and hardware equipment to trouble shoot and isolate problems, gauge network performance, and trace data and protocol activity.
• Devises solutions to complex operational problems within the capacity and operational limitations of installed equipment.
• Develops and executes contingency plans for network software and hardware failures including isolated and major outages.
• Provides internal consulting, technical guidance, information and support to application developers, computer operations, workstation support, company management and departmental clients.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
This position will require the Remedy developer to have extensive knowledge of the BMC/Remedy Action Request System as well as the ITSM suite of applications. In addition to a standard Remedy skill-set, it will be very valuable for the applicant to have additional knowledge and experience with complex Microsoft SQL Development environments as well as scripting and web development skills. Of additional value would be experience working with the Air Force, and specifically CITS Remedy applications such as eTANG, and TTS. The successful applicant will have the following skill sets:
• Experience developing and implementing applications using BMC/Remedy Action Request System (ARS) versions 7.x and lower
• Experience implementing and configuring ITSM applications (Incident Management, Problem Management, CMDB, Service Level Management, Asset Management)
• Hard Skills:
• Experience developing and maintaining custom applications using ARS
• Experience with integrating web AR Systems with external data sources for population of data and auto-ticketing
• Experience working with Air Force agencies and applications with a specific emphasis on CITS systems (eTANG, eTANG +, or TTS)
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server versions 2000 and 2005 (Includes Transact SQL and DTS implementation)
• Experience with Web technologies with a specific requirement for the implementation and management of Mid-Tier and web based reporting technologies related to Remedy.
• Scripting Technologies/Languages: VBScript, CScript, JavaScript
• Implementation of Remedy server technologies in a high availability scalable environment (Specifically Server Grouping)
• Windows integration with SAN technologies
• Must be able to lead and work as part of a team
• Must be a good communicator: Verbal, and written in the form of new documentation

Knowledge and experience with the following additional skills would be of added value:
• Experience with BMC/Remedy Mid-Tier
• ITIL best practices
• Knowledge and/or experience working in an Air Force IT Environment
