Hi,

I have already implemented similar configurations. What's your problem?

Really bad performance, when we submit a ticket with 2 or more service targets attached ...

If we do a performance test with 5 user creating ticket where they have 2 service targets attached, we can see the unix server like 5 or 6 connecting taking more than 20 % of the CPU, and the user response time after each submit is like 5 to 12 seconds.

Hi,

Have you configured Oracle as BMC said in a BSM performance whitepaper?

Are your Oracle stats up to date?

What's the usage of 390626 & 390627?

Did you define Plugin-Filter-API-Threads and Plugin-ADBC-Threads?

Which RPC queue is used by the RE and the CAI?

I mean CPU and RAM...

Vincent,

390626 is typically used for the Plugin/Loopback RPC Number (Server configuration). You can add/remove threads for this by defining it as a Private Queue, as it appears Pat has done.

Not sure if you meant the 'standard' usage of that port or how Pat is using it, specifically. \:\)

Pat,

I would turn on API, SQL, and Filter logging specifically when you are testing the above-mentioned functionality. Then run the logs through the ARLogAnalyzer tool (there's a link to its location on the developer network in another thread/response today) to see if you are running into a thread availability issue or possibly an indexing issue with your filters.

Let us know!

I know we have customers set up similarly and I have not heard of major performance issues, but I'm a bit removed from the actual configurations of those servers, so I couldn't say for sure if the installations match yours or not.

Pat,

Could you post here your ar.cfg file?

To log the API and SQL is definitively a good idea...

Yes and in a french environment too \:\)

I used to configure the following for up to 200 concurent users:
* A private queue with 8 min and 10 max dedicaced to the CAI.
* CAI configured to use that queue
* A private queue with 8 min and 10 max dedicaced to the RE.
* RE configured to use that queue
* Configure the Plugin-Filter-API-Threads to 4 min and 6 max
* Configure the Plugin-ARDBC-Threads to 4 min and 6 max
* Remove all the usused workflow with the Advanced Admin Tool (which is available here)
* Configure correctly the QBE match option for inefficient indexes based on system fields with the Advanced Admin Tool
* Separate live Indexes and data in different tablespaces with the Advanced admin tool
* Separate Audit, workinfo indexes and data in different tablespaces with the Advanced Admin Tool

I hope that helps

Server specs :
2 * Mid-Tier : 2 CPU 4Go Linux
AR : 4 CPU 8Go Linux
DB : 4 CPU 8Go Linux + SAN storage

The CPU idle of the DB server depends of the usage :
* Normal User usage : 70% idle
* Reconciliation : 0% idle
