Environment

We have a clustered Remedy environment configured with 2 application Servers, 1 Database server (Common db for both the servers) and a domain controller. And have a web server outside the cluster. The details are as shown below.

Node 1 Node 2

Shared Disk

Node 1: 10.238.52.60
Node 2: 10.238.52.61
DC: 10.238.52.54
DB: 10.238.52.58 (Remedy DB – MSA Box)

Node 1 and Node 2 Communication is with private IPs 192.168.1.1, 192.168.1.2 respectively (Fiber cable link)

The Cluster IP (Virtual IP) 10.238.52.57.

The Node 1, Node 2 is connected to the web server through the cluster IP.

Issue

One of the clustered servers (Primary server – Node 1) got crashed and the hard disks got failed. We have replaced the hard disks with the new one. Now the situation is, we have to install the AR Server and other modules to the system and get back the clustered environment. Since we have no data loss and the other server (Secondary – Node 2) is up and running, right now there is no impact on the production.

Please assist how do we go ahead in installing the Remedy Server in the above mentioned machine.

Will AR Server installation affect the Data in the Database?
will it affect the customised standard forms and data?? (like shr_People, user, hpd_helpdesk etc)

Please help

Since your database is not affected. All you need to do is create a dummy database and point ur m/c to that datbase while installing AR System (same Patch ver) and later point your new ARS to existing Database... You do not have to do any migration.

then cluster it.

The other simplest way is just to restore a backup of the entire system which was cluster node 1 \:\)
