In case you are talking about pointing another ARServer to the existing database, it can be done. Just install Server components again and generate licenses for the new m/c (you will have to purge ur existin license) and then point it to new Database(while installing itself you can specify... or later you can point)...

We don't have it on VMWare but talking with someone here working on VMWare, there is VMWare migration tool that should work for you.
We have Remedy on a Solaris box in which we were able to flash the drives and put Remedy on a new Hard drive successfully without having to re-install.

I know for sure, that migration is possible in Unix flavours (jst hav 2 maintain the folder structure and modfiy a few modifications) but not sure on Windows though!

Hi...

You can attack this in two different ways.

Take everything
===============
The VMware-ESX product does not contain any tool to move a VM to a physical platform. But there are other tools in the virtual world that can take a VirtualMachine and move everything onto a physical box. One such tool is Platespin Powerconvert, but there are others as well.

Having the right tools available, this move is straight forward and will take as long as it takes to copy your virtual hard-disk over network + some minuttes.

(I have only been using tools to move from a physical platform into a virtual one. But I know cases where the oposite can be wanted )

Move the applications-server
============================
This can be further split into handling the DB and the APPL-server.

Moving the DB if necessary have to be handled by the DB-procedure for the actual DB.

Moving the ARServer should also be possible, but there isn't any procedure documented for it I think. I would have done a little bit of experimenting upfront before trying on a prod-system.

In both cases you have to get new license-keys.
