We've realized a connection to a remote OracleDB
when ARS is running on Oracle. We used Oracle SQL-Net
and Oracle DB-Link for this.
But it's possible to access data when the remote database server
is from a different vendor.
But for this it's neccessary to use a databse gateway product allowing
a database from one vendor to connect a database of a different vendor.
Please ask Oracle and Sybase if there's a gateway available (maybe third
party?).

Can anyone tell me if it the below senario is possible:
In an Active Link on a PC Client, with a Remedy 3.2.1 Server running
on HP-UX 10.20 on top of Sybase 11.0.3.2, access a remote Oracle 7.3
Database (Non-Remedy) and retrieve a few values to be presented in
a Dialog Box or a Query List window?
thanks in advance,
Terry
