Hi,
trying to use the Mid Tier Version 7 to connect to a server running 5.01.02 patch 1313 and receiving the following error:

The following error(s) occurred while trying to process your request:

ARERR [329]
Invalid password for an existing user

Is the version 7 mid tier backwards compatible with this server?

Same mid tier application is working on version 7 server, which is a backup version of the above v5 and upgraded to v7.

I have set the password on the server under "Server Information - Connection Settings - Mid Tier Admin Password" to be what I want - have I missed something?

Hi,

The password encryption method has been changed betwen AR System 5.x and newer versions. You must set the Mid-Tier password to blank on server Side and Mid-Tier side.

Ok that seemed better,
now I am getting:

ARERR [9343]
No Preference form or ServerSetting Home Page form. Home Page needs a form

I see that you can specify a home page in the server preferences in Version 7 but not in Version 5. Might just give up on the Version 7 mid tier with the version 5 server ...

Home Page comes with version 6...

Did you tried to access with your forms using direct URL?

Yes, does not want to work this way either. Its ok, was just trying to check the forms and make corrections before upgrading the working DB. Thanks for your help.
