A relatively simple AREA pluging would do the trick (not withstanding the ARS bug described below).
The plugin would issue a query on the user form and match whichever field it would need.
ie:
query 'PIN' = ..loginname.. OR 'Login Name' = ..loginname..
then if field pin == loginname then
if pinpwd == loginpwd then true else false
else
if usrpwd == loginpwd then true else false
The AREA plugin would itself have to login to issue the query.
Unfortunately, there is a bug that does complicate this plugin I'm afraid and I'm not sure when it will be fixed.
Remedy has supplied an object (privately as far as I'm aware, and, for one platform only!) and an h file so the AREA plugin can work around this issue. The AREA plugin would need to internally used userids to issue the query.
The chances of hittong the bug go up as the number of users go up at about a 1/127 chance.
