** Hi All, When I create a new user, I set the 'Full Name' in the 'User' form the same as the username given in Microsoft Exchange Server. My requirement is that, when I create a "New User" OR update the ''Full Name'' field in the User form, I want the "Full Name" to be automatically added to an Email Distribution list (ex: "All Remedy ARS Users"). This would help us in notifying all users when a downtime is scheduled for the Remedy ARS application. Is this possible? Many thanks, Steve 20060125This posting was submitted with HTML in it

** Do you have email address in user form ? Would creating a report and export the users's email and sending email to users workk instead of creating a distribution list ?
Thanks, Arun

** Hi, Well, I can fill the email field in the user's form. But this would involve additional work as far as filling the email field is concerned. Moreover, the 'Full Name' field is taken from the 'alias' field in Outlook Contacts (we are using microsoft exchange server), so uniqueness is maintained. Is it possible using OLE to achieve this? The action would have to open the distribution list and add the user (identified by 'Alias' in contacts ; right click on a name in the 'To' field and you should see the 'alias' field in outlook) to this list. Regarding taking reports, i will have to take a new report everytime I create a new user so that the list is updated. The inputs given are appreciated. Regards, Steve On 3/16/06, Arun Kandel wrote:

** Do you NEED to add them to a distribution list? Why can't you create a Remedy group and when you add them to Users make a point to also add them to the group (or create workflow to add them) then when you want to notify them send a notification to the Group? If you need to add to a distribution list do a google search on "dsmod group" . On 3/15/06, Steve wrote:

** Hi, I need to add them to a distribution list since people without any login to remedy ars server should also be able to send notification. Without logging into the server thru remedy ars, how can they send a notification to the ARS group? Thanks On 3/17/06, Steven Pataray wrote:

** I understand, you or any other Remedy user won't necessarily be the ones to email the ARS group. In that case try using the dsmod group command which I suggested. You should be able to create a batch file as long as you know the OU paths on Exchange then create an Active Link to do a Run Process to call the batch file with a parameter of the username.
