Giving those permissions would only grant the user that runs the remedy services access to the catalog files which should be copied in the /usr/lib/..... /C/ directory as instructed at the time of install..

Doing this however would not resolve your connection errors. Are you able to ping to the server??

HI Joe

Earlier when I mentioned that it worked... I actually connected again to windows machine and it worked.

Now again I tried to resolve the ARERR 90 and as u stated giving the arsystem.cat file the read and write access and AR System deamon has owner and group access too. Still getting the same error message.

Cheers

Ankur,

ARERR 90 is a connection error - Message not in catolog indicates you have no permissions to the arsystem.cat file. So I'm assuming you are running your AR System as a non-root and have forgotten to permit that user to use the cat file. Could you resolve that so you can see why you are getting the ARERR 90 error? You must make sure that your user running the AR System deamon has owner and group access to that file and read/write permission to that file

Dwayne,

The most "like ARSDoc" product for 6.3 that I 've seen is ARInside. I don't
know if Stefan is still working on the code or not (his website has been
down for a month or more now), but I have placed the last code-drop that I
had from him into my download area. Feel free to go grab it and try it out.

Good luck!

Dear Remedy users,

Anybody have a good Remedy documentation tool to recommend?

We would like something like ARSDoc, where you can click on a
form and see all its fields, active links, filter s, etc. If
you pick one of the fields you can see all the active links,
and menus and filters that reference it. Pick one of the
menus and see all the forms/fields that use it. You can just
keep going round and round till you have all th e info you need.

Unfortunately ARSDoc isn't available for 6.3 so we are
considering buying a commercial product that will get updated
as Remedy gets updated. I would like to hear from happy
customers, but will also listen to any company that would like
to sell us their product.
