Hi,
I having the same error with Error Code: -5006 : 0x80070002
when I´m trying to install midtier 6.3 patch 14 on Windows 2003 Server,
the last weekend my client installed the Security Update Windows Server
2003 (KB912919) and my midtier left to work propertly, so I try to
installed again but it crashed with the error that you comment, I have
tested all your tips but it does´nt work, when I try midtier.exe
-extractall C:\midtier after rebooting my server, the command runs the
installer instead of extracting the files and doesn't extract anything
in my directory.
Do you have anything that I can do to resolve this issue, please send me
an email.

John-
I am quite confident that the -extractall will solve your problems, and
rebuilding will not.
After you ran that command, did it create the setup files (setup.exe,
cab's, ini's etc.) in the C:\midtier?
Did you navigate to to that directory, and try to run the setup.exe that
was extracted?
I just want to save you the headache we ran into. We also tried
reinstalling other components, restarting, etc. We also had the exact
same error on the same box.
Feel free to email me directly for more info.

Hello Listers,
ARS 6.3
Midtier 6.3 Patch 001
Windows 2003 Server
MS SQL 2000 on a remote server.
The server was rebooted. I tried the midtier.exe -extractall C:\midtier
; neither worked. I am using it via a MetaFrame client, so we thought
that was the issue. I went to the console and tried again. Same error.
Since it is such a beefy server and the Remedy apps for this site are
light weight I am going to have the machine rebuilt and install ARSystem
and Midtier.
I'll keep you posted.

Kelly and Fred,
I can't reboot the server until I get the ok from the sysadmin. And he's
not answering me.
I will try the unpack route and see how that goes.
Thanks for the responses.

Yes, we had the same issue. You have to force an unpack of the install
file. Then run the setup.exe from the unpacked contents. For some
reason it won't unpack into the temp directory, even though we were
logged in as an admin.
You can do this by running the command:
midtier.exe -extractall C:/mydirectory
This will extract the contents into "mydirectory".

Hello Listers,
Has anyone seen an error like this, preventing the midtier from
installing? The following is the "Details" of the error message that I
get as soon as I start the install. InstallShiled asks if I want to use
English, I click OK and BOOM! Install crashes.
Thanks in advance for any insight.
