Our system is producing e-mails with imbedded web links that include a fully qualified Remedy Server Name (Barry.City). However, when clicking on the link to go to a form over the web, we get RPC Bind errors when clicking within the form after it loads. Interestingly, if the URL of the link is modified to drop the domain part of the qualification we have no problems. As a result, I am trying to determine how I can change the server in this web link to simply "Barry" as opposed to "Barry.City".

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

It sounds like the Mid-Tier server doesn't list the Barry.City name in its list of servers to connect to.

Does the server have both the short and FQDN names in the ar.conf (ar.cfg on Windows) file? By having both listed in the AR Server's config file the server will know itself by both names.

Does the Mid-Tier have listings for both the short and FQDN names in the AR Servers Settings page?

In the Server's config file (names could be either way):
Server-Name: Barry
IP-Name: Barry.City

Scott, what you may need to do is go into the mid tier configuration and add a second server with the full server name. This should allow mid-tier to resolve both references.
