Thanks for deciphering the debugger output and pointing out the field that
was causing the error. I looked up the field Id, and found that it was for
a page holder that was missing public perms (my user was read only and
needed the public permission).

The problem was that MidTier logging was pointing to a problem with the
visible page holder (the one that the HPD users use), but the debugger
found the error to be with a different (hidden) page holder, Debugpage.
After adding Public perms to the page holder, everything worked as
advertised.

I don't know how the perms were changed, but the form was recently migrated
using Remedy Migrator, and I'll have to check whether we had a bit go
astray during the migration.
