Hey guys, reading Noland's last email about the IM client gave me an idea. Wouldn't it be fun to have a monthly challenge? The challenge is released on the first (something along the lines of create a 2-way IM client that did this and this and that) and due like the end of the month.

Judges, criteria, platform, restrictions, etc. would need to be outlined but I think it would be kind of fun and a good way to challenge you to think outside of the box.

Just an idea...

Yeah, there's a magazine called "Make" http://www.makezine.com that does that kind of thing each issue. Present a vexing problem, and let the readers respond with some really elegant and creative solutions. They have (modest) prizes and everything.

I subscribed the day I heard about it.

I will volunteer to setup a Kinetic Survey to manage the voting.

I think it is a great/fun idea.

Exactly. Prize could be as simple as a pin or a trophy given @ the ARSList
awards at the BMC UserWorld (ha ha, couldn't let it slide).

The solutions could be posted someplace for a download like the developer
community.
