Albert,

There are two active link run processes that may help you; I got these from
the developing apps basic documents:
1) PERFORM-ACTION-ADD-ATTACHMENT - this will allow you to take an
attachment from a specific location and put it in an attachment field
within ARS
2) PERFORM-ACTION-OPEN-ATTACHMENT - this will allow you to display an
attachment from an attachment field

Using these two run process' you should be able to open a PDF directly from
ARS.

Hi list,

I want to open a PDF document on a network share by pressing a button in
WUT. Until now I am doing a run process Active Link like this: cmd /c
"x:path\document.pdf". This works but it creates an ugly DOS box that
remains alive until Acrobat Reader is closed.

Does anybody know a way to open this kind of documents without that DOS box
and without using view fields?

ARS 5.1.2 (soon 6.3)
Win2k

Kind regards,
Albert

Hi Himashu,

the processes mentioned are designet to work withtin the "Run process" action of Active Links or filters.

Your problem using macros could be that you save the marcos in another directory than ARS is searching. Note that the default macro path for WUT and WAT is not the same.

Kind regards,
Albert
