Rick:
My vote is for the Philly Cheese Steak place on Stoneridge. Actually burnt my mouth on it. Served real hot and not so quick (this means that they started to cook it when you ordered it, not from a batch cook like some other places.) They use fresh meat (not frozen like some other places.) I needed a couple of cups of Pepsi to cool down my mouth. Luckily, the damage was not permenant. However, the food was great.

Never heard of Gonga burger - only went to Sonic for the first time last summer - in Virginia, I think. Somewhere back east. I hit the In-N-out in P-town at least once each week I'm there. BTW, there's a little burger place right across Hopyard from there that has good burgers, fries, and shakes, too. Plus, pie for dessert.
Maybe this should be a "What's the best place to eat in Pleasanton?" thread.

SONIC! What a place to go and get a Coney and 'Tots'. I'm lucky that I can walk to the nearest one and it is a up and downhill adventure (and the uphill direction is AFTER I have my meal.)
But anyone heard of Gonga Burger. Sorta like 'In-n-Out' but I feel the food is better because the fries are curly. Just in case you are wondering, there is an 'In-n-Out' behind the Candlewood (now Larkspur) Suites in P-Town. Ate there when I went to the "Remedy Boot Camp" in December.

They are a drive in type "restaurant". They have car hops that sometimes are on roller skates.
They have really good slushie drinks. The food is on the same level as Wendy's or Burger King.

I think the real question we need to ask ourselves is... Why aren't there any Sonic restaurants in the NorthEast?

I miss in-n-out. Now why are there no in-n-outs in the south/southeast?

** It's a California (and now Las Vegas and PHX) thing - - private company with no plans to franchise and become the golden arches of cholesterol! SuperSize ME!!! For those of you unaware of the In - n - Out charm, it's their menu - simple simple simple. They make a burger, or a cheeseburger - fries and shakes. They don't have 50 combo meals - they open @ 10:30 AM, and make a good fresh never frozen burger, and yet in my opinion the fries are not great - or even good. But they're fresh, and that is what people seem to love. - Oh and they're cheap too - cheeseburger made fresh with lettuce and tomato and onion is less than 2 bucks...Im gettin hungry for a burger! I would Agree there is nothing like a Cheese Steak in Philly.

** Although I love the In-&-Out (I agree - fries aren't that great), my absolute favorite places are downtown - old town. It's a great place to go if you haven't been, and I haven't had a bad meal there. But the best is a Mexican place in this huge old mansion with lots of seating on the lawn in warmer weather. It's called the Blue Agave, and the Mole Chicken is the best Mexican meal I have ever had. Perfect mix of the hot peppers and bittersweet chocolate. Rick
