I would like our diary field contents to be visible on our forms,
without having to open the edit box. Has anybody been able to do this?

Thanks,
Bahe

Hi Bahe,

This may not be exactly what you want, but...

I have a utility that will convert your diary-field to individual records
in a diary/child-form instead. You can then show the diary-data in a table
instead.

You would have to change your workflow to push data to this new form in
the future. You will also have to add a display-only-field where users can
enter new manual diary data.

The rrrDiaryx-utility can mask out certain automatically generated
diary-field and put in separate fields. I.e. if you log group assignments,
status changes etc.

Let me know off list if you want access to the tool, as I have not made it
publicly available yet.

Hi Bahe,

I've been lobbying for years to have the contents of diary
fields available to workflow, but with no success. Please
add your voice to the chorus, and maybe some day it will
happen.

I do it with a Display-Only unlimited length Character Field and an
active link. On Display do a Set Fields action pulling data from your
form with a Set Field If of 'Request ID' = $Request ID$. Get your Diary
field and put it into your Display-Only field

Thanks Fred that's a good lead. However, I can't find any documentation
about unlimited length Character Fields, unless that means setting the limit
to 8000 or more.

I would like to do something similar, but instead of just the current
diary field contents I would like to view all past diary field entries
for the account. Using the ideas below I can pull one entry. What I
would like it to do is append all diary entries and display that list in
the unlimited length character field. Is this possible?
