Happy Holidays ARSLIST,
Can the ARS User Tool 5.1.2 be installed onto several individual PCs using SMS or do I have to go to each an every machine? If I can do it by SMS, how do I do it?
ARS Environment is: ARS 5.1.2 Admin and User Tool (Patch 1238), Windows 2000 server, with SQL 2000 database.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Fred,
Yes, you can have SMS "push" client installation of Remedy's User tool to local machines. You will need to get with your SMS folks and have them create a script to do this for you.
Give them an installation package and then let them install on a naked machine so they can figure what files get created and then this will help them create the script to do the push.
or.... if someone on the list has a SMS script they are willing to share, then that would speed up your quest !!
HTH

Fred,
Not sure what your plans are for SMS but because the results of SMS (discovery) are stored in a SQL database you will have challenges to use and review the data because it is external to Remedy.
However, our Link to External Databases will allow you to access this data via an ARDBC Plug-in, using a vendor form. If you are interested we can arrange for an eval copy that may be useful. If you would like to try this out then follow this link and you will receive download instructions etc:

probably Fred was refering to the SMS tool which you can use to distribute software to pc's in your company and automate setups.... I'm afraid he does not need an eval copy of your great software for this one ;-)

Does anyone know what happened to Dan Hardy, he no longer works at Remedy. Along those lines, does anyone know what's going to happen to the .NET API that Dan spearheaded?
Thanks,
Mike
