Thanks, Pat!

I hope Cthulhu brings me what I asked for.

P.S., It's hard to decide on one, but "Freddy the Red Brained Mi-Go"
sure brings a smile and warms the heart.

Hi Patrick,

In a year that has "Christmas" as the 8th word you can't say on
television, in a country where religion is excluded for the sake of
inclusion, this brought the biggest smile to my face. Thanks I needed
that.

Indeed. Everywhere we go, it seems that there's "Winter Holiday" this and "Seasonal Occurrence" that - but what holidays are celebrated this time of year? Hannukah? Sure - if I know someone's Jewish, I'll be glad to wish them a happy one. Kwanzaa? Well, I don't even know exactly how that's celebrated, but if that lights someone's candle, I wish them the best one possible. For the other 95% of us in this nation, that holiday is Christmas.

Whether one is religious or not, 97% of the people in this country celebrate Christmas in some way - why can't we wish someone a Merry one? Why should we care if someone is so hyper-sensitive as to be offended by our doing so? The ACLU can kiss my big, white, hairy...mitten, if they think they can keep me from saying

Merry Christmas to All!

For me the saddest thing was how Macy's had sent out a memo this year
regarding the removal of the word Christmas from the store. Emlpoyees
were told not to discuss it and to refer any questions to HR.
OMG this is Macys! The store made its very reputation on Christmas, and
the new owners Federated Dept Stores has rewritten history. I guess
there is no more Miracle on 34th Street at Macy's. I was really looking
forward to one day taking my kid to see Santa at Macys, forget that!
What do they think "Santa" means in English? Guess I'll have to take the
kids to see the stuffed one on display in the museum of natural history.
Its only fitting that Wal-Mart will run them into the ground, because
the new Macys is something we can do without.
Besides I sort of like the Happy Merry Christmachuanakwanzaka
campaign at Targets... at least they are trying to cover the bases,
tho I think they missed Tet. While Santa is not the reason for
Christmas, its just another symptom of a greater illness. (Stepping off
the soap box) Merry Christmas , Happy Chuanakha, Happy Kwanza, and a
Happy New Year.

Agreed
A manager at our Christmas party actually called for attention and said
a prayer; very unexpected and very refreshing!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I know this feeling and I know it well. It is indeed very, very sad.
Interesting series of events, isn't it? Sort of makes person wonder what
happen....

When I was a little whipper-snapper, I remember that my parents would
take me to see Santa as well. During those trips to the store, you could
not help but see something that really made it feel like it was
Christmas. Even the music was playing. You could not throw a rock
without hitting something that had Merry Christmas written on it - in
big bold letters even.

Now when I take my kids to see Santa, if you can find one as they are
somewhat rare these days, all I see are signs that say "Happy Holidays."
The music is optional. It almost seems like Christmas is a concept that
is undergoing some sort of metamorphosis right in front of me. What a
rip.

Merry Christmas to all.

Celebrating the Solstice is a religious rite, and actually a part of
where some Christmas traditions come from. For the true Athiest there
is the tradition of sleeping in and if they go out to dinner, the Feast
of Immediate Seating which comes from so many having a holiday meal at
home. So Blessings upon you all from the Deity of your choice.

I don't mean to start a debate, and my specialty is in "PC" computers, not
"PC" politics, and I most certainly don't take offense at people wishing me
a Merry Christmas (I work phone support and this time of year its the last
thing everyone says), however, I must say that some things are just
overboard- I just got my mother a Satellite Radio. It has 1 channel for easy
listening (I'm a bit shocked at this, but none-the-less). The provider has
removed this one channel (along with 4 others) and is now playing nothing
but Christmas music- there are at least 20 sports channels they could have
replaced for this month- or better still, created a new channel for it,
perhaps had one or two channels reserved for "seasonal"- marching bands for
the 4th, love songs for Feb 14th, etc.

A lot of things seem to be like that it seems- don't get me wrong- I agree
that its a huge shame everything is being taken so far (e.g. Christmas is a
"bad" word), but I also don't see anything wrong with a "Happy Holidays!"
either, especially when "Christmas" starts earlier and earlier every year- I
went into one store in September and they already had their "Santa" stuff
out.

Indeed. Everywhere we go, it seems that there's "Winter Holiday" this and
"Seasonal Occurrence" that - but what holidays are celebrated this time of
year? Hannukah? Sure - if I know someone's Jewish, I'll be glad to wish
them a happy one. Kwanzaa? Well, I don't even know exactly how that's
celebrated, but if that lights someone's candle, I wish them the best one
possible. For the other 95% of us in this nation, that holiday is
Christmas.

Whether one is religious or not, 97% of the people in this country celebrate
Christmas in some way - why can't we wish someone a Merry one? Why should
we care if someone is so hyper-sensitive as to be offended by our doing so?
The ACLU can kiss my big, white, hairy...mitten, if they think they can keep
me from saying

Merry Christmas to All!

Rick

Hi Patrick,

In a year that has "Christmas" as the 8th word you can't say on
television, in a country where religion is excluded for the sake of
inclusion, this brought the biggest smile to my face. Thanks I needed that.
A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to ALL

Best Regards,
