Hi all,
Has anyone come up with a better way of duplicating a bunch of Active Links or Filters other than opening them one by one in the Admin Tool and copying?

I use ARUtilities Plus 6.5 (ARS v6) for these operations.
step1. Export old elements for saving.
step2. "Append to Name" or "Replace in Name" action for necessary elements
step3. Import old elements.

Is there other way??? May be, but i dont now.

I will try that route. I had just downloaded ARUtilities Plus 6.5 (v5) but for some reason when I try to connect to the AR Server it is unable to log me in. I tried with a couple of usernames that I use but get the same results. The server is in version 5.1.2. Should I try v6 of ARUtilities Plus 6.5?

If version of ar system is 5.xx you have to use ARUtilities Plus 5.6

Hi....

Something as simple as this normally works for me:
* exporting the objects to a def-file
* use a text-editor to do a string-replace on the names
* importing the modified def-file


When I do this I normally have the object to be duplicated as a template for almost identical "modules" and the only thing that changes is a part in the filename for thos objects.
* Dialog:Search:Template:[Schema|Form|AL|Filter|...]

* Dialog:Search:Product:[Schema|Form|AL|Filter|...]
* Dialog:Search:Storage:[Schema|Form|AL|Filter|...]

My procedure might not work for everybody, but it is quite simple and requires no extra tool than what you normally already have.
