I feel a little bad that I just gave Dan a hard time (well maybe I'm exaggerating a bit) and we probably don't acknowledge nearly enough all the hard work Dan does do to keep the list working.
I know I appreciate utilizing the list as I'm sure you all do to. So let's give Dan a show of approval and thanks. How many replies to this post can we get so that Dan knows how much we really do value his contribution. How big can the hug get? Ok Joel, maybe there's a bit of a hug for you too!
Using a full signature block to insure we all know who is sending this even though I don't use my company's email for this list so I don't have everything coming there,

Chris,
Bad boy that I am ...
Lest We Not Forget......
His wine is red, his wit is sharp.. His opinions are his own and he don't carry a harp.
He leads a group that needs help as the questions keep piling. He offers to mediate and we end up smiling .
He fights with viruses and keeps the list running.. He is often quite serious, and of this I am punning..
He's not always right but, he's not always wide of the mark. He ain't no cherub, he ain't building no ark..
He is a past MVP of the list, of this I'm sure ... Let's hope he continues the list is the cure..
He ain't no celebrity, except to those of us who need the solution..
Way to go Dan !

Awww heck...I'll send Dan a virtual hug too, since he deserves it - complete with a few stiff pats on the back, the immediate recoil from personal space and inevitable query about the status of something manly (like last night's football game, or the new Apexi exhaust systems or something).
Ya do a good job, Dan. I don't care what Gidd says about you. ;)
Cheers,

Thanks everyone. I feel much better now. (I'm sure Joel does too.)
I was waiting for Gidd to tell me I should have put an end to this thread and now that he has replied with some wit, I should have done so sooner.
I'm getting a picture of a table full of beer and red wine which I can't reach because Gordon has lifted me up and not collapsed under my weight quite yet, while Joel and the rest of you are enjoying the beverages :-)
Oh sorry, that's a vision of RUG2005! (other than Gordon being able or wanting to lift me up)
Could we just call it a giant electronic hug/wave around the world?
cheers ... Daniel

Dan, As you can see from the list, you (and Joel) are very appreciated. With my bad back, I'm not sure a big hug would be in order. But the next time I see you (probably at RUG 2005), I'll give you a little one. For those of you that don't know me, I am 6'8" and 345 pounds and am one of the few that Dan has to look up to physically. I'll share a keg of beer with you anytime! It has to be Canadian or one of my favorites "Genesee Cream Ale" from Rochester, NY (which is right across the pond from Toronto). Thanks Dan for all your efforts to keep this list going. Gordon M.
