I have tried running ARSdoc 1.28 against our Remedy 6.x server and it fails. It works fine against our Remedy 5.1.2pX Remedy server. I have to believe the problem is with the api for 6. Any time table on when we can see a version for Remedy 6?

I really don't know David's timeline on this. You might try installing arsperl and compiling it with the patches known to work for ARS 6.x API. (you can get more information on that from the arsperl mailing list)

Also, you can try contacting David to see what his status on the new release is. I am guessing that it is fairly dependent on the next version of ARSPerl.

Here is a link to his site: http://www.soton.ac.uk/~_remedy/ and this is the Readme file for the current release, which documents the known issues with ARSDoc and ARSPerl (to some extent): http://www.soton.ac.uk/~_remedy/README .

Not the answer you wanted, I am sure, but it is all I know at this point.

I see that in the download section on 9/17/04 Jeff Murphy provided a compiled ARSPerl 1.81 with 6.0.1 api, but it is for unix. Could someone compile a version for Windows? We are trying to compile on Unix, but when we run ARSDoc we get the following error: "RPC: Can't encode arguments"

Thanks

There is active development work going on in the arsperl world. Work is about to begin on 2.0, which will be 5.x and 6.x compliant. I'm sure there will be more announcements about that.

As to your question, David Adams was working on making ARSDoc work with ARSPerl 1.81 and 1.82, however, there is a bug that he reported to Jeff M. that was causing segmentation faults. I'm sure that is one of the items high on the list of things to address in the arsperl world.

Once it has been fixed, I'm sure there will be a 1.29 or 1.3 release of arsdoc.

Does that help?
