I remember a project from my contractor days we nicknamed Hope. It stood
for Hopeless Operation to Prevent Employment.

Do farcical projects count? Had a team lead missinterpret the following
scentence: "See if XXX needs any help with hte project ..."
He thought there was a new HTE project. We kept that illusion going for
a good 3 weeks, even inventing a cute blond PM who would email him from
a spoofed account. The culmination was a "date" in the cafeteria. Of
course she never showed, but we all had a good laugh about it.

I worked on an in-house project years ago. We got to name it so we came up with Real Time Fault Management System (RTFM)
We even had slogans:
Users having trouble with simple apps? Then RTFM is the answer.
Remember RTFM when your users don't know how to use new software.

I don't know about the rest of you, but it drives me INSANE when people pick
server names that do not accurately reflect the purpose of the server.
One place that I worked at named all of their servers after characters from
Lord of the Rings (And this was WELL BEFORE the movies came out). I could
never remember what anything did.
