Hi there,
Tried to receive data from a 3rd party software providing an ODBC connection
to an ARS form, didn't work. So far I learned the ARS ODBC driver is read
only. Did it become Read/Write in Version 5+, 6+? Or is there any workaround?

Thanks.

Haithem,

Yes the ARS ODBC driver provides a user with a Read Only access to the AR System
database to read data from the AR System database....

From what you have asked I understand you do not want to read from the AR System
database but update the AR System database based on information contained in another
database used by some other application.

There are several methods you could do this each of these methods have their own
scopes. Do you want this action do be done during some even within the ARS? Or is this
to be done on some schedule?

Depending on your situation, you could adopt tools such as Escalations or Filters to
write run a direct SQL to the foreign database, (off course after you have established
the requred DB link between the two.)

If you still need help, a little more details from you as to what you want to achieve
would be appreciated...

Cheers

Joe

Hello Joe,
Thanks for the offered help. We want to integrate a Fax Server application
with ARS. One aspect is to extract data such as successful transmission,
date, time, etc. from the fax application via ODBC. While trying to map the
fields with fields in an ARS form we discovered that the ARS ODBC driver is
read only. Now looking for another solution :(

Again thanks for your help.

Haitham
